Remember the commercial where the woman was having a busy day, needed a break and wanted her bath to simply “take her away”? Sometimes, especially during menopause, we just need to take a deep breath and “woo-sah” to cool off, get grounded and/or collect our thoughts. While an escape would be nice, if you can’t physically get away, imagine sitting on a beach with a couple of friends listening to the sound of waves crashing near the shore or of the tranquil sounds of a nearby waterfall. Close your eyes, clear your mind, breath deeply, exhale fully. Listen to the imagined beach sounds. Woosah! This exercise can be very helpful in the midst of a stressful situation or when you feel a hot-flash coming on!
